Jagaba Jagaba, a house of representatives member, says there is no commitment by the federal government to end the killings in the southern part of Kaduna state.

Fulani herdsmen have been accused of carrying out the killings.

Jagaba said this while contributing to a motion to investigate the killings and destruction of property in the the affected areas moved by Simon Arabor.

“There is no serious commitment by the federal government to arrest this killings. Something should be done urgently to stop the killings,” he said.

Earlier, Arabor noted that the killings were carried out after soldiers deployed in the area left.

Also contributing to the debate, Femi Gbajabiamila, house leader, said a state of emergency should be declared to tackle the situation.

The house further resolved to send its leadership to interface with president Muhammadu Buhari in order to find a lasting solution to the situation.
