Fire razes Osun CP’s house in Ogun

A fire outbreak has razed the house of Olawale Olokode, Osun state commissioner of police, located in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The fire incident was said to have occurred on Sunday, around 10pm, and lasted for about two hours.

Property worth millions of naira was destroyed in the inferno.

Opalola Yemisi, Osun police spokesperson, in a statement on Monday, confirmed the incident.

However, the cause of the inferno was not disclosed.

“The fire which started at about 1800hrs yesterday, 20th June, 2021 lasted for about two hours before it was put off through the efforts of firefighters,” he said.

“The CP, while thanking the Almighty God that no life was lost nor injury sustained during the inferno, thanked all who have contributed in one way or the other to ensure the fire is put off as the family is still counting their loss.

“The Osun State Police Command appreciates His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, CP Edward Ajogun Awolowo, Area Commander Abeokuta metropolis and everyone for sympathizing with the commissioner of police.

“The officers and men of Osun state police command commiserate with the CP and the entire family and described the incident as unfortunate and pathetic. It is the command prayer and hope that the Almighty God replenish the loss in hundred folds.”
