At least five buildings and several shanties have been razed in a fire outbreak in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos state.

The fire which started in one building, spread to others and some shanties at Jebba, Okobaba street, Ebute Metta, Lagos mainland, on Friday.

This happened barely 48 hours after a six-storey building in a section of the Balogun market in Lagos Island was razed by fire.

Operatives of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) and other agencies are working together to curtail the spread of the fire.
