Gunmen kill 38 in Kaduna

Thirty-eight people were killed at Ankpon and Fadan Karshi Villages in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, when gunmen invaded the villages on Monday night and fired gunshots indiscriminately.

The attack also left several people injured.

Chairman of Sanga Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Adamu, described the incident as unfortunate.

He revealed that 21 people were killed in Fadan Kashi, while 17 were killed in Nandu.

Adamu condoled those who lost their loved ones during the attack and urged residents to remain calm, adding that while adequate measures have been adopted to forestall recurrence, security agencies are on the trail of the attackers.

Kaduna is one of the states with periodic incidences of inter-communal killings.

In May, seven people were killed when gunmen attacked a police outpost at Fadan Karshi.
