Insurance back to NPFL after 11 years absence
Insurance Football Club of Benin have gained promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NFL) after an 11-year absence.
Insurance beat Shooting Stars of Ibadan 1-0 on a Wednesday at the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 tournament in Abia state.
Charles Omokaro’s 10th minute strike took the Edo Arsenal back to top flight.
Remo Stars of Ijebu also returned to the NPFL after beating Delta Force 2-1 in the southern group.
Gombe United and Kada City, in the northern group, also secured promotion.
Kada City FC will face Insurance on Thursday to determine the winner of the 2018 NNL Super 8 Playoffs.
