From #IStandWithBuhari to #IQueueWithBuhari, Nigerians are now queuing with President Muhammadu Buhari, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made mockery of the situation.

The opposition party is mocking the president over the prevailing fuel crisis across the nation, calling on Nigerians to join the #IStandWithBuhari national rallies holding at various filling stations across the nation.

A nine-million-man march for the president was initially scheduled to hold on Monday by the #IStandWithBuhari advocacy group, until the president dissociated himself from the group.

“Among other reasons, we have found it necessary to distance the Presidency from the #Istandwithbuhari group because it’s premature and ostentatious celebration of the present administration’s achievements is totally inconsistent with President Buhari’s philosophy of service with humility,” the presidency said in a statement.

The PDP’s south-south office tweeted about the situation of the fuel crisis, and was re-tweeted by the party’s national Twitter handle and many other Nigerians.

Nigerians have had to face fuel scarcity more than five various times since Buhari took office in May 2015, with hopes of eliminating the recurring decimal.

Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum resources, said earlier in the month that he is not a magician, and suggested that the scarcity could persist till May.

Following a public outcry, Kachikwu promised that the scarcity would be halted between the first and second week of April.

While the president is in the US for a nuclear summit, Nigerians continue to moan under the heavy pressure of fuel scarcity, and social media is an evidence of the state of the nation.
