A Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) operative identified as Modu Bulama has reportedly shot a driver simply identified as Bafur’ra, over the latter’s attempt to settle a conflict.

The incident was said to have happened on Sunday in Gubio LGA of Borno state.

Bulama was said to have stopped a commercial driver and requested money, but the driver refused.

An argument ensued between the driver and the CJTF operative which resulted in a long queue at a checkpoint.

Bulama was heard saying “I will shoot your tyre if you don’t pay the money”.

While the argument was on, an older resident reportedly intervened and tried to plead with the CJTF operative, but the officer slapped the elderly man.

As a result of the development, Bafur’ra was said to have confronted the CJTF member for slapping the elderly man.
