Omo-Agege, Ndume appear before panel probing mace theft
Ovie Omo-Agege, senator representing Delta central, and Ali Ndume, a senator from Borno state, are currently before a joint ad hoc committee of the national assembly investigating the mace theft.
Omo-Agege was accused to have led thugs to the senate chamber on April 18 to steal the mace while plenary was ongoing.
The incident happened days after he was suspended for 90 legislative days.
A court had overturned his suspension and he resumed at the upper legislative chamber last week.
He was summoned to appear before the committee last week.
Ndume was said to have prevented the sergeant-at-arms from struggling with the thugs to retrieve the mace.
