Kachikwu fires NNPC’s group executive directors

Emmanuel Kachikwu, the new group managing director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has dismissed all the Group Executive Directors (GEDs) of the corporation.

Kachikwu also reduced the number of NNPC GEDs from eight to four.

Ohi Alegbe, NNPC’s group general manager, public affairs, confirmed the development in a statement.

The statement noted that Kaichukwu conveyed the decision to the directors and expressed gratitude to them for their services to the corporation.

The affected GEDs are Ian Udoh, refining and petrochemicals; Adebayo Ibirogba, engineering and technical; David Ige, gas and power; Attahir Yusuf, business development; Dan Efebo, leading corporate services; Bernard Otti, finance and accounts; and Aisha Abdurrahman, commerce and investments.

Kachikwu was appointed on Tuesday following the dismissal of Joseph Dawah.
