Kaduna police hands over ‘Abuja kidnap kingpin’ to FCT command

The police command in the federal capital territory (FCT) says one Chinaza Philip, a suspected kidnap kingpin in Abuja, has been arrested.

In a statement on Friday, Josephine Adeh, FCT police spokesperson, said the suspect was arrested by the Kaduna command on Thursday.

Adeh added that the suspect has been handed over to the Abuja police command.

The 28-year-old suspected kidnap kidpin was arrested by the operatives of Kawo divisional police in Kaduna while conveying some abducted persons to Kano.

“The FCT police command wishes to confirm the arrest of one Chinaza Phillip, a notorious Abuja kidnapper by police operatives of the Kaduna state police command on Thursday 18th January, 2024,” the statement reads.

“The suspect has been handed over to FCT police command today being Friday 19th January, 2024, and currently in police custody.”

Recently, cases of kidnapping have been on the rise in Abuja communities.

A number of residents have been abducted, including the recent case of the abduction of six sisters in the Bwari area.
