The Kwara police command says it has returned 200 Almajiri children to Katsina state.

In a statement on Saturday, Ajayi Okasanmi, spokesman of the Kwara police command, said a truck with licence plate number MKA 54 XL was intercepted at Bode Sadu-Okoolowo expressway, Ilorin, state capital.

Okasanmi said upon interrogation, the driver of the truck explained that he was from Funtua, a town in Katsina.

“When the driver of the truck was interrogated, he said that they were coming from Funtua in Katsina State, despite the inter-state travel ban to avoid the spread of coronavirus,” NAN quoted the spokesman as saying.
