Leprosy Mission pledges more support for PWDs in Kogi
The Leprosy Mission Nigeria (TLMN) has promised more support for People living With Disabilities (PWDs) in Kogi state.
John Baeckrad, director of The Leprosy Mission Sweden (TLMS), who was on a working visit to Lokoja, capital of the state on Tuesday, said the mission’s priority is the wellbeing of PWDs.
He said TLMS will also provide packages that will enhance the quality of lives of PWDs.
Pius Sunday, head of programme at TLMN, said the mission had offered support to PWDs and is still committed to doing so.
Sunday, who represented the country director, asked the beneficiaries of TLMN’s empowerment programmes to let other PWDs outside Lokoja benefit from their empowerment package.
Glenn Larsen, board chairman, TLM Norway, implored PWDs in the state to use the skills they acquired in the right way.
Bello Jibril, chairman of persons with leprosy in the state, pleaded for more support in education and infrastructure development.
The beneficiaries thanked TLMN for the support and called for more assistance.
