MI’s stunt about quitting music was just a plot to launch his anticipated album/single and interestingly, a leadership event, it has been revealed.

Chocolate City’s multi award-winning artiste, M.I Abaga, will be hosting a ‘Leadership’ event Friday at Terra Kulture, as a follow-up to the release of his latest single “King James”.

When the rapper announced his exit from the music industry, maybe he did mean he would be venturing into something much more serious and out of his terrain, albeit using his terrain as a route.

The event, a VIP party to be attended strictly by invitation, takes the form of an art exhibition with a discussion panel centered on the idea of leadership.

“Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself,” M.I said ahead of the event.

“When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.

M.I seeks to use this platform to tackle bad leadership and stir the need for great and selfless leaders for Nigeria in our present time. There will be an array of high-profile panelists such as Audu Maikori, who would speak on ‘Family’; Akinwunmi Ambode, who would speak on ‘Courage’; Gbenga Shobo (ED, FirstBank), to speak on ‘Wealth’; Yaw Nsarkoh (MD, Unilever), to speak on ‘Struggle’; Ojoma Ochai on ‘Leadership’; Japheth Omojuwa on ‘Solitude’; Toyosi Akerele on ‘Victory’; and Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on ‘Respect’.

The event will also activate participation from student activists from University of Lagos, while there would be musical performances by Loopy Music’s Ruby Gyang and Chocolate City’s Nosa, both members of the ChocBoiNation.
