It started out as a thought. A simple thought to do something for the men, something that hadn’t been done. It wasn’t an idea, or an initiative, but a thought.

This passing thought then became an idea, and then it became an initiative. An initiative to Recall the 21^st Century Man to his original position of leadership and accountability, and just like that; a Resource Centre for Men was birthed.

It is well established that no man is an island and team work makes the dream work. But sometimes the team works so hard, and expands the dream to almost disproportionate levels. This happens mostly because no challenge is insurmountable, and whatever is brought to the table can be achieved. You should surround yourself with people who push you past your limits, for only then can you grow.

Difficulties are what make success stories worth their while. The tales mothers make up for their children of mortals who faced immortals but came out victorious excite them for a reason, simply because in spite of the glaring odds stacked against them, they came out bruised, battered but victorious. Work through the challenges, the difficulties and the odds that are always stacked against you.

I was certain it was never going to be a bed of roses, but I was even more surprised when it seemed everything might crumble, but I trusted the process. I knew what I wanted, and how it would be, so I wasn’t fazed. Always have a tunnel vision, that way you’re aware that there are distractions, but you’re focused on the end.

The journey is always sweeter at the end, when you taste the honey drops mixed with the sweat of your effort. It’s an indescribable feeling, and cannot fully be described by words. It was joyous to see the Balmoral Convention Centre in Federal Palace Hotel Lagos brimming with men trooping in and out, knowing fully well that they were exposed to timeless knowledge and have had their desires reawakened.

The end is truly where we begin, and our sights are not set on what we’ve achieved, they are set on the other side of the mountains to be crossed.
