Minister’s aide resigns over unpaid salaries

Nathaniel Adojutelegan, one of the aides of Cladius Daramola (pictured right), minister of state for Niger Delta Affairs, has resigned.

Adojutelegan said he resigned over the non-payment of his salaries for a year.

TheCable learnt that Adojutelegan tendered his resignation in December, Daramola officially received it on Tuesday.

“I am resigning my position as your special assistant,” Adojutelegan wrote.

“I appreciate the rare opportunity you offered me to serve our country notwithstanding the personal sacrifice I had to make to work for you without any form of remuneration in the last one year.”

Adojuletegan told TheCable that he was not paid all through the period he worked for the minister.

“It is true that I have resigned my appointment as the special assistant to the minister. He received the letter yesterday,” he said.

“I was not paid throughout the period I worked with him.”

Adaramola could not be reached for comment as he neither answered his call nor replied the text message sent by TheCable.

Ajodutelegan is from Arigidi-Akoko in Akoko north west local government area of Ondo state.

Daramola appointed him in December 2015- one month after President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated his cabinet.
