Morocco are the champions of the 2025 FIFA men’s U-20 World Cup.
The north African country defeated Argentina 2-0 in the final held in Santiago, Chile, in the early hours of Monday.
Two goals from Yassir Zabiri sealed the triumph for Morocco and they become the second African country to win the trophy since Ghana in 2009.
Zabiri opened the scoring in the 12th minute and doubled the lead in 29th minute, and the Argentinian never found their way back.

Argentina had sent the Flying Eagles of Nigeria packing from the tournament with a 4-0 thumping in the second round.
Morocco had a sensational run of results to the eventual trophy. The team defeated Brazil and Spain in the group stage, South Korea got upended in the second round also.
Morocco then defeated the United States in the quarter-final before upsetting France on penalties in the semi-finals.

Their only loss came against Mexico in the first game of group stage.
The triumph is Morocco’s first-ever FIFA trophy.
