Musician to clean court premises for stealing generator
A Magistrate Court in Minna has ordered a musician, Yusuf Abubakar,28, to clean the court premises for three months, for stealing a generator set.
In her ruling, Magistrate Mariam King sentenced Abubakar after he pleaded guilty.
King said that if the convict fails to appear every day to clean the court premises, he will serve additional three months in prison.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl Jubilee Jac, told the court that the accused was arrested on May 5.
Jac said the accused, a resident of Sabon Gari Minna, broke into the house of Mr Mustapha Mohammed, and stole a generator.
He said the accused confessed to committing the crime during police investigations.
When the charge was read to the accused person, he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.
