The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says the air component of Operation Whirl Punch has bombed scores of suspected terrorists in Kaduna.

Edward Gabkwet, NAF’s public relations and information director, said in a statement that the terrorists were bombed on Thursday in Tsauni Doka village, Igabi LGA of Kaduna.

Gabkwet said the strikes were conducted after credible intelligence revealed the presence of Boderi, a terrorist kingpin, and his foot soldiers at Tsauni Doka.

He said the first air strikes were carried out on the Boderi’s hideout in the early hours of Thursday “with devastating consequences on the terrorists”.

Gabkwet said another location, 500 metres east of Boderi’s hideout, was bombed.

The NAF spokesperson added that the second location was believed to be the hiding place of Nasiru, Boderi’s brother.

“Both strikes were termed very successful as several terrorists were neutralised and their motorcycles destroyed,” Gabkwet said.

“Boderi and his brother Nasiru, alongside their cohorts, have been blamed for several attacks and abductions along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road as well as in several communities in Niger and Kaduna States.”
