The Katsina command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has warned hotel owners in the state against allowing the use of illegal drugs in their facilities.

Hassan Sani-Abubakar, the NDLEA commander in the state, who spoke during a meeting on Wednesday, said hotel rooms are reportedly becoming havens where drug dealers operate their illegal businesses.

Sani-Abubakar said the agency will ensure that offenders are brought to justice.

Speaking also, Halilu Hamidu, deputy state commander of the NDLEA in the state, noted that hotel owners can play a vital role in curbing the menace.

Kabir Nalule, head of the NDLEA’s prosecution and legal services, said the agency is empowered by the constitution to access premises without a warrant in case of suspected drug activities.

Participants at the meeting praised the NDLEA’s efforts and expressed readiness to collaborate with the agency to combat the challenge of substance abuse.
