Newspaper Headlines: Buhari yet to sign electoral bill as deadline elapses

Reactions to the refusal of President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the electoral act amendment bill within the 30-day timeline appeared on the cover pages of the Nigerian newspapers.

The Nation reports that Buhari may have declined assent to the electoral act amendment bill. The Debt Management Office (DMO) said the total of Chinese loans taken by Nigeria is now $3.5 billion, the newspaper says.

The Punch reports that the federal government has issued a travel advisory over the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The newspaper says the death toll in Kaduna bandits’ attacks has risen to 38.
