Reports on bribery allegations by Binance against the federal government, and the political crisis in Rivers, suffuse the frontpages of the dailies today. 

The Punch reports that the federal government has vowed to pursue the criminal case against Binance and its officials to a logical end. The newspaper says the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has rejected the directive of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for all financial institutions to implement a 0.5 percent cybersecurity levy on all electronic transactions.

The Guardian reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state has asked the state house of assembly to impeach Siminalayi Fubara, governor of the state. The newspaper reports the Lagos state government as saying that the Lekki corridor of the state was meant for farming.

The Nation reports that the CBN has suspended charges on cash deposits until September 30, 2024. The newspaper says the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has asked governors to relocate residents from flood-prone areas.

THISDAY reports that the presidency said President Bola Tinubu is expected to return to the country today from Europe. The newspaper says the CBN has clarified that 50 percent balance of the repatriated export proceeds could be used to settle financial obligations in the country during the prescribed 90-day period.
