Daily Trust reports that the APC is maintaining a lead in the 10th senate with 49 seats. The newspaper says Alhassan Doguwa, majority leader of the house of representatives, has been arrested by the police for his alleged role in attacks in Kano state during the general election.

Daily Independent reports that the major opposition parties have called for the cancellation of Saturday’s presidential election over alleged irregularities. The newspaper says the West African Elders Forum has asked political parties and their supporters to remain calm over the just concluded presidential election.
