The decision of the state attorney-generals to sue Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation, over remittance of recovered loot and the response of Malami dominated the headlines of Nigerian newspapers.

Daily Independent says the loyalists of Ahmed Tinubu, former governor of Lagos state, have kicked against the choice of Christian presidential candidate in 2023 by some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Guardian says the federal government will retain petrol subsidy, despite signing PIA. Aminu Masari, governor of Katsina, has asked residents to protect themselves against bandits, the newspaper reports.

The Nigerian Tribune says 36 state attorney-generals have sued Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation, over recovered loot remittance. The newspaper reports the federal government has insisted that the host communities got fair deal from the PIA.
