The reports of the collation of the presidential election results dominated the cover pages of Nigerian newspapers.

The Punch reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has shrugged off demands by various stakeholders to suspend the ongoing collation of the results of the presidential and national assembly elections over allegations of electoral manipulation. The newspaper says the United States of America has extended visa validity for Nigerians to five years.

The Nation reports that the guidelines barring governors, ministers, foreign missions, and other public servants from making cash withdrawals from public accounts will come into effect tomorrow. The newspaper says Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called for calm over election results.

Daily Independent reports that 10 political parties staged a walkout from the national collation centre of the presidential election results. The newspaper says former president Olusegun Obasanjo has questioned the credibility of Saturday’s presidential election.

Daily Trust reports that Commonwealth and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) election monitoring teams have commended the conduct of the presidential and national assembly elections. The newspaper says some governors — Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ben Ayade of Cross River, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu — failed to win their senatorial district elections.

The Guardian says the Labour Party (LP) in Imo state has called for the immediate removal of Sylvia Agu, the state resident electoral commissioner, over alleged ineptitude in Saturday’s elections. The newspaper reports that Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has faulted the non-usage of the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) to transmit election results.
