#NigeriaElections2023: I am confident of victory, says Tinubu after voting

Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says that he is confident of winning the elections.

Tinubu addressed the press after voting at his polling unit 085 in ward 3, Ikeja LGA, Lagos state.

The former governor said he was impressed by the turnout of voters and appealed for a peaceful election.

Tinubu also assured citizens of a transformative democracy that is “here to stay”.

“I met them already and it is going smoothly. It’s going well and I want a very good turnout. This is expected, we need a good turnout,” he said.

“That is the adoption and commitment to democracy and the democratic process. I am too certain for victory. Nigerians should look forward to a very progressive, prosperous, transformative Nigeria. Democracy is here and here to stay.

“I’m happy with Nigerians and I’m very confident with what they are doing. I just appeal to them to continue to maintain peace for democracy to take proper road in the country. I worked for it. I suffered for it.

A total of 18 candidates are contesting in the presidential election.

Tinubu is one of the leading four presidential candidates.

Others include Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
