Patients at Ogun psychiatric hospital protest ‘poor treatment’

Patients at the Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta, Ogun state, have protested the “poor treatment” being meted to them at the facility.

According to Channels Television, the patients alleged poor feeding, poor sanitary conditions, and the absence of an alternative power source.

The violent protest lasted for more than two hours before police operatives from the Lafenwa Divisional Headquarters intervened and brought the situation under control.

A psychiatric doctor and three nurses were said to have escaped lynching during the protest.
