Africa’s football legends are set to converge on Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos for the ‘African Legends Game’.

The legends game serves dual purposes: to create awareness to douse the xenophobia tension in South Africa and to raise money for the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Kanu Heart Foundation.

“Most of the legends expected have already confirmed their attendance and are eager to storm Lagos for the showpiece,” said Onyebuchi Abia, on behalf of the organisers.

“We are doing everything to ensure this is a success. All arrangements are being made and preparations are in top gear.

“These also includes arrangements for the Heart Foundation projects where we continue with the primary duty of the Kanu Heart Foundation, that is the heart operations.

George Weah, Aboubakar Titi Camara, Samuel Kuffuor, Abedi Pele, Kalusha Bwalya, Mark Fish, Phil Masinga, Kanu Nwankwo, Austin Okocha and Emmanuel Amuneke are some of the retired football greats who have signed up for the initiative.

The African Legends Game, holding Saturday, April 29, is organised in partnership with the Lagos state government.
