Omokri: Jonathan relied on proper agenda but Buhari relies on propaganda

Omokri: Jonathan relied on proper agenda but Buhari relies on propaganda

Reno Omokri, a former aide of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, says “Nigeria’s economy thrived under Jonathan because he relied on proper agenda, but collapsed under Buhari because he relies on propaganda”.

Omokri said this in reaction to the statement of  Lauretta Onochie, an aide of President Muhammadu Buhari, who asked Jonathan to crawl on his knees and apologise to Nigerians for “plundering” the nation’s economy.

Quoting Osita Okechukwu, director general of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Onochie said the last administration only relied on “vodoo” economic records.

She also said Jonathan bequeathed a “dearth of infrastructures” to Buhari.

Omokri described Onochie’s statement as ridiculous, asking whom Jonathan should seek forgiveness from.

“What Team Buhari have failed to understand is that it is easier to manage an economy than it is to manage lies,” Omokri wrote on Facebook.

“Imagine the ridiculousness of asking former President Goodluck Jonathan to crawl from Otuoke to Kaura Namoda to ask for forgiveness. Forgiveness from who? From President Muhammadu Buhari who said ‘Abacha did not steal’?

“Let me tell you what exists between Otuoke and Kaura Namoda-165 almajiri schools built for Talakawa that were never ever cared for until the man from Otuoke became President.

“Nigeria’s economy thrived under Jonathan because he relied on proper agenda, but it has collapsed under Buhari because he relies on propaganda.”

There has been a build up in the heat of the seeming media war between officials of the present and past administrations.

The “war” was triggered by comments credited to Jonathan who said – during the PDP convention – his administration recorded many strides, and is ready to take over power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

His comments followed a backlash from the VON DG.
