Asisat Oshoala, Super Falcons striker, was hosted by President Bola Tinubu at his residence in Lagos on Thursday. 

The president received the 29-year-old footballer alongside Remi, the first lady.

Earlier this month, Oshoala was named the 2023 CAF Women’s Player of the Year.

The triumph was Oshoala’s sixth time winning the award, pulling clear as the footballer with the most wins.

She was crowned the best African female football player in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.

In celebration of her feat, Tinubu had described Oshoala, alongside Victor Osimhen, who also won the men’s best player prize, as a source of “pride to the nation and an inspiration for aspiring footballers across the continent”.
