Kyah Simon was the star for Australia in their 2-0 victory over the Super Falcons at Winnipeg Stadium in their second match in Group D at the 2015 Women’s World Cup.

But, how did Asisat Oshoala and co fare against the Aussies?

TheCable takes a look.

Precious Dede: She made couple of saves when it mattered but was poor in her delivery on one or two occasions. Did her best to prevent the two goals from going in but wasn’t enough. 6

Osinachi Ohale: The right-back had a very quiet game before she was hauled off in the 52nd minute. Her only notable “contribution” to the game was gifting the Aussies the first free-kick two minutes into the match. 4.5

Ngozi Ebere: The left-back was lucky not to be booked after committing three fouls in the game. Was mainly called to duty during corner kicks – taking two of the five won by the Falcons. 5

Onome Ebi” The “Chief Clearing Officer” of the team as she who was always there to clear loose balls to safety. Was caught napping, though, when Australia took the lead. 5.5

Josephine Chukwunonye: The centre-half committed two fouls with one earning her a booking and was lucky not to have been adjudged to have handled the ball in the box which could have led to a penalty been given against the Falcons. Couldn’t cut off the danger that led to both goals. 5.5

Halimatu Ayinde: The midfielder had a quiet game and did little to set the pace of the game. Conceded a free-kick following a challenge on Kellond-Knight. 5

Evelyn Nwabuoku: The team’s captain “led” by example after committing the most fouls (5) by the Falcons, suffered the most fouls (3) and crowned her effort with a booking in the 42nd minute. She still had an effort hit the target. 6

Ngozi Okobi: Okobi had a lively game. She was full of confidence and even attempted an ambitious volley from long-range, which drew a gasp from the fans, but it sailed high. 6

Asisat Oshoala: Had a quiet game by her high standard but had three efforts go off target. Earned a free-kick following the challenge from Alanna Kennedy in the 33rd minute. But committed two fouls of her own. 6

Francisca Ordega: Was she really on the pitch? No notable action in the entire 90 minutes. 4

Desire Oparanozie: Oparanozie looked dangerous for Nigeria up front, but her final touch was off the mark on a few occasions in the first ten minutes but her 52nd minute free-kick was on target. 6

Ugo Njoku: Came in for Ohale in the 52nd minute and left her mark on Sam Kerr with a vicious elbow in the game’s late stages. 4.5

Courtney Dike: Replaced Oshoala in the 84th minute and three minutes later, saw an effort go off target. Had a hand in one corner-kick. 5

Perpetua Nkwocha: The “grandmother” of Nigeria women’s game. Came off the bench in the 54th minute replacing Oparanozie. Committed one foul and suffered from one too. 4.5
