Muyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), says three more suspects linked to the attacks on some Plateau communities, have been apprehended.

NAN reports that Adejobi disclosed this on Tuesday during a media briefing in Abuja.

The development comes five days after the police announced the arrest of eight suspects connected to the killings.

On December 24, over 150 villagers were killed by gunmen who attacked Barkin Ladi, Mangu, and Bokkos LGAs.

Many residents were also displaced after the gunmen attacked another community on December 30.

Adejobi said the suspects were members of a gunrunning syndicate believed to be involved in the attacks.

He said the suspects were arrested following the directive of Kayode Egbetokum, inspector-general of police, to deploy tactical strategies and ensure the arrest of all perpetrators.
