Police arrest woman for ‘stabbing boyfriend over misunderstanding’ in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa police command says it has arrested one Alice Mulak, who stabbed her boyfriend to death over a misunderstanding in state.

Ramhan Nansel, police spokesperson in the state, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

Nansel said police operatives attached to Mararaba ‘A’ division arrested Mulak at Ungwan Gwari in Karu LGA of the state.

According to the police, the suspect stabbed her boyfriend with a knife during a fight that occurred behind City Rock hotel in Mararaba area of the state.

“Police operatives attached to Mararaba ‘A’ Division in Nasarawa State, led by CSP Musa Babayola, have arrested one Alice Mulak ‘F’ of Ungwan Gwari, Karu LGA for stabbing her boyfriend to death with a knife,” the statement reads.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident happened behind City Rock Hotel, Mararaba, at about 0330hrs when the deceased and his girlfriend engaged themselves in fisticuffs as a result of a misunderstanding.

“Hence, the suspect was arrested and the knife used in perpetrating the offence was consequently recovered based on the directives of CP Adesina Soyemi, the commissioner of police.

“The suspect has been transferred to state criminal unvestigation department, Lafia, for further investigation and subsequent prosecution.”
