Police foil another bomb attack in Kano

The Nigeria police said another bomb attack in Kano has been foiled.

This is coming less than 24 hours after a car laden with bomb killed five persons in the city.

Force PRO, Mr Frank Mba, a chief superintendent of police, said operatives tracked the would-be bomber.

“Kano police operatives acting on intelligence, tracked and recovered a Mitsubishi Station Wagon car, ash in colour with registration number Kano AE 756 GSW loaded with assorted gas cylinders, one container of fuel and other electrical components of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs),” he said.

“The vehicle was recovered at Tafawa Balewa Street, Nasarawa area of Kano State and has since been rendered safe by Police Bomb Disposal experts.”

The bomb blast at Middle Road, Off Gold Coast Street, Sabon Gari, Kano on Sunday night killed five persons, including the would-be bomber, and wounded seven others, according to the police.

This has placed the police on full alert.

Police authorities said investigation into the incident has commenced.

The Inspector General of Police, MD Abubakar, has called on all Nigerians to cooperate with the police to end terrorism.
