Police inspector ‘stabs man to death’ at Lagos mall

A police inspector identified as Taofeek has allegedly stabbed Anosikwa Patrick, a resident of Lagos, to death.

The incident happened on Saturday at the Skymall shopping mall in Ajah area of Lagos.

In a statement on Sunday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, said the command has commenced investigation into the death of Patrick.

Hundeyin said the officer involved is a member of the visiting 12 police mobile force (PMF) squadron.

“The manager and chief security officer of the mall are already in custody assisting with the ongoing investigation,” the statement reads.

“Meanwhile, the police officer has been identified as Inspector Taofeek, a member of the visiting 12 PMF squadron to Lagos.”

Hundeyin added that Adegoke Fayoade, Lagos police commissioner, has directed detectives of the homicide section of the state criminal investigation department to investigate the incident.

The Lagos police spokesperson said the public will be informed about the outcome of the investigation.

On April 17, Obagi Njok, a police corporal, allegedly shot dead Emmanuel Okocha, a businessman, along the Aba-Owerri road in Abia state.
