Police recruitment: Adamawa, Kaduna top list as PSC shortlists 171,956 applicants for CBT

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has invited 171,956 applicants for computer-based tests as part of the recruitment process into the force.

The 171,956 applicants are those who applied for general duty positions.

Out of the 171,956 applicants, 146,138 are males while 25,818 are females

In a statement on Thursday, Ikechukwu Ani, PSC spokesperson, said the aptitude tests have been fixed for March 5, 2024.

Ani disclosed that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has been approved by the commission to conduct the tests “because of its long standing pedigree in such examinations”.

“Adamawa state will be presenting the highest number of candidates for the tests with 13, 780 followed by Kaduna with 12,343, Bauchi 10,911, Benue, 10,532 and Katsina,10,457,” the PSC spokesperson said.

“Anambra state has the least candidates for the aptitude tests with 343 applicants followed by Lagos with 504 and Ebonyi, 600.

“Successful candidates from the computer based tests will be required to appear for medical examinations before they proceed for training.”

In October 2023, PSC in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) invited interested Nigerians to apply as constables.

The commission also invited applications for enlistment as artisans into specialised fields.

The fields include medical assistant, veterinary assistant, band section, communications or info-tech specialist, driver or mechanic, marine, plumbers, masons, painters, tilers, electricians, welders and carpenters.
