Joe Biden, presidential candidate of the Democratic Party in the 2020 US election, has updated his Twitter bio to include ‘president-elect’, after being projected winner by CNN, NBC, BBC and the  Associated Press.

Biden made the changes to his account on Saturday.

“President-Elect, husband to Dr Biden, proud father & grandfather. Ready to build back better for all Americans,” his bio now reads.

Kamala Harris, the vice-presidential candidate of the democratic party has also added ‘vice-president-elect’ to her Twitter bio.

“Vice President-Elect of the United States. Senator, wife, Momala, auntie. Fighting for the people. She/her,” her bio now reads.

Biden’s projected victory is coming after four days of intense suspense over the outcome of Tuesday’s election.

Joe Biden took to Twitter on Saturday, to thank Americans for electing him the 46th president of the United State of America, although vote counting is still going on in some states.

“America, I’m honoured that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a president for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me,” he wrote.

TheCable had earlier reported that international news organisations are projecting Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 US presidential election against incumbent President Donald Trump.
