FULL LIST: The 14 airports where domestic private, charter flights do not need ministerial approval

Private and charter flights can now operate at the 14 airports that have been reopened without needing to get approval from the ministry of aviation.

This is according to a tweet by Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation, on Sunday.

“Glad to announce that the following airports are open for full domestic operations, hence ministerial approvals in and out of them is not required. This includes private and charter operations,” the tweet read.

The 14 airports that have reopened include Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos; Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja; Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano; Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa; Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri.

Others are Maiduguri Airport, Maiduguri; Victor Attah Airport, Uyo; Kaduna Airport, Kaduna; Yola Airport, Yola; Margaret Ekpo Airport, Calabar; Sultan Abubakar Airport, Sokoto; Birnin Kebbi Airport, Kebbi; Yakubu Gowon Airport, Jos; and Benin Airport, Benin.

He added that the federal government will update the public on other airports that will reopen in due course.

In the most recent update about when the ban with international flights would be lifted, Sirika had said there was a possibility that international flights could resume before October.
