Ahmed Onimisi, a person with disability (PwD), has written to the Kogi police commissioner to seek justice over the murder of Aisha Aminu.

In an open letter, he said that the victim, a woman with disability, was allegedly stabbed multiple times on June 7, 2023 by her partner.

The letter partly reads: “I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply distressing incident that has shaken our community and demands immediate attention.

“It pertains to the gruesome murder of Aisha, a physically challenged woman and a mother of three who tragically lost her life on the 7th of June, 2023 in her shop located in Obehira, Okene LGA, Kogi state.

“According to eyewitness accounts, Aisha was brutally attacked by her boyfriend in her shop.

“The assailant forcibly dragged her from the inner chamber and mercilessly stabbed her multiple times until she succumbed to her injuries.

“This heinous act was witnessed by individuals present at the scene who can provide vital information to aid in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect.

“It is deeply alarming that despite Aisha’s previous reports of a lingering issue with her boyfriend which were brought to the attention of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and the community head, no satisfactory resolution was reached.

“This tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need for effective intervention in domestic disputes and the safeguarding of vulnerable individuals within our society.

“In light of these circumstances, I implore your esteem department and other relevant security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into Aisha’s murder.

“I urge you to leave no stone unturned in identifying and apprehending the suspect responsible for this heinous crime.

“Additionally, I kindly request that necessary measures be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of Aisha’s grieving family and witnesses involved in the case.”
