Samson Itodo reappointed as board member of International Institute for Democracy
Samson Itodo, executive director of Yiaga Africa, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has been reappointed as a board member of the International Institute for Democracy Electoral Assistance (IDEA).
The institute announced the appointment in a letter dated December 14.
Itodo was first appointed a board member of IDEA in 2020.
He is a development practitioner and a fellow of the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance at the University of Cape Town.
He was also the convener of the #NotTooYoungToRun movement which led to an improvement in youth participation in Nigerian politics.
In 2022, he was appointed a Kofi Annan Foundation board member.
“I hope this finds you well. I am pleased to inform you that the council of member states of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) during its recent sessions held on 1 December 2023 has renewed your appointment as a member of the board of advisers for the period of 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2026,” the letter reads.
“Let me take the opportunity to express my sincere congratulations on your reappointment as a member of the board of advisers and extend my gratitude for your continued commitment and support to the work of the board.”
