Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, has effected minor changes to his cabinet a few days after its inauguration.
On Wednesday, the governor swore in and assigned portfolios to 23 commissioners and 14 special advisers.
In a post on Friday, Gboyega Akosile, chief press secretary (CPS) to the governor, said Sanwo-Olu has redeployed Oreoluwa Finnih-Adekoya, former special adviser on health, as his aide on sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Akosile said Abiola Olowu who was appointed special adviser on commerce will now function as an adviser in energy and mineral resources.
He said the governor made the announcement at the on-boarding retreat for the new cabinet members hosted by the state government.
“Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih formerly special adviser, Ministry of Health now a special adviser to the governor on sustainable development goals (SGDs) 2. Engr. Abiola Olowu formerly SA Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, now special adviser, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Office of Mineral Resources),” he wrote on his X page.
Akosile did not indicate whether the governor would make new appointments to fill the vacant positions.
Before the inauguration of the cabinet members, the Lagos house of assembly had declined to screen and confirm 17 out of the 39 commissioner-nominees that were first recommended by Sanwo-Olu.
But the governor sent another list of 18 nominees to the assembly out of which 16 were cleared.
