Security operatives rescue abducted NSCDC deputy commandant’s wife in Nasarawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has rescued Victoria Dandaura, wife of deputy commandants of the agency, abducted by bandits in Nasarawa.

Olusola Odumosu, NSCDC spokesperson, announced the development in a statement on Friday.

On Wednesday, Gunmen abducted the wife of the deputy commandant at her residence in the Gidi-Gidi area of Lafia, the Nasarawa capital.

Odumosu said the victim was rescued at about 9:20 pm on Friday.

He said the rescue operation was carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

“She was rescued unhurt after a successful joint operation by a combined tactical team comprising of men of NSCDC CG’SSIS, NSCDC Counter Terrorism Operatives (CTU) and NSCDC Special Female Squad (SFS),” he said.

The spokesperson said Ezekiel Dandaura, younger brother to the deputy commandant, who was shot during the attack is currently receiving medical treatment.

He added that Ahmed Audi, NSCDC commandant general, commended the sister security agencies for their support in the rescue operation.
