Success Ojo, the chief executive officer and co-founder of GotoCourse, says the digital learning platform has bridged gender gap in the tech industry by providing scholarship for over 150 women taking its programmes.

Speaking during a recent virtual press conference, Dr. Ojo said the mission of the platform is to make learning possible without any limit.

She noted that GotoCourse has provided a platform for independent teachers to reach learners globally and help them acquire innovative skills needed in the 21st century.

According to the educational technology expert, the platform is delving into the African market, especially Nigeria, to help boost the educational standard of the countries.

She stated that GotoCourse is on the verge of launching to spaces in Lagos and Ibadan to serve as practical learning hubs to support content consumed virtually.

Dr Ojo added that the primary goal has remained to build solutions and functional tools that address the incessant challenges of the digital learning space.

“GotoCourse is a leading edtech solution that provides a comprehensive virtual school platform for creators and students to connect and learn. Several challenges continually exist in the provision of virtual learning systems despite the numerous opportunities they present,” she said.

“We have GotoCourse for learners, creators and multiple proprietary systems. One of those platforms that we recently and proud of is GotoCourse for independent teachers. We identified that they don’t have a school of their own, but they are experts and they need the platform to be able to reach learners globally.

“We created a platform to support Africans get themselves trained and access real world experts. Over 150 women have also benefitted from our scholarship programmes as we look to bridge the gender gap in the tech industry.

“Our fees are affordable. 89% of students trained have secured jobs. We have over 20,000 registered users. We are moving aggressively into the African market to help schools.”

Geeta Vasandani, head of admin at GotoCourse, said the platform believes that education is the key to unlocking opportunities and transforming lives.
