‘Take solace in her legacy’ — Tinubu condoles with Jonathan over sister’s death

President Bola Tinubu has condoled with former President Goodluck Jonathan over the death of Obebhatein, his elder sister.

Obebhatein, 70, died on Thursday at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, after a brief illness.

The deceased, widely known as Amissi, was a retired teacher, businesswoman, mother and grandmother.

In a statement issued on Friday by Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesperson, Tinubu asked Jonathan to “take solace in the legacy of Amissi, who dedicated her life to the service of God and humanity”.

The president prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and comfort for those mourning her demise.

Obebhatein left behind three children, siblings, and Eunice Afeni-Jonathan, her mother.

According to a statement released by Jonathan’s media office, Obebhatein is scheduled to be buried on Tuesday, February 16.
