Lagos publishes pictures, names of five sex offenders
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has published the identities of five men convicted for defiling minors.
In a post on X, on Monday, the agency published the names, pictures, type of offences, and the duration of the sentence of the five convicts.
The agency said the convicts have been found guilty of defilement and sentenced to life imprisonment by the Lagos state high court.
The agency said the publication of their information is in line with the provisions of section 42 of the domestic and sexual violence agency law.
The convicts are Nduka Anyawu, Siakpere Ofure, Adam Farouk, Adewale Ibitoye and Blessing Okon.
The agency said the Lagos government will not tolerate sexual abuse, adding that it is committed to supporting survivors of human rights abuse.
In March 2022, the Lagos agency commenced the publication of sexual offenders “to serve as a deterrent to other perpetrators”.
