President Muhammadu Buhari says justice will be meted out to the perpetrators of the mob killings in Zamfara state.

Eight people were burnt alive by a mob at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara on Monday.

He said: “I received news of the mob killings in Zamfara with great dismay. It is barbaric and unacceptable. I assure that the law will take its course. My prayers are with the families of the victims.

“Under my watch, we will work to ensure that there is no place for violence in the name of religion, ethnicity, or in any guise whatsoever.”

Zamfara state command of the Nigeria police force has since enforced an indefinite curfew in the town until peace is restored. Also, authorities of the polytechnic closed down the institution with immediate effect.
