Rauf Fawale, a policeman attached to the Osun command, has been allegedly beaten to death by three officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Osogbo, the state capital.

The deceased officer, said to be attached to Dada estate police station in Osogbo, was reportedly beaten by one David Olowoporoku and two others on January 14, 2020.

He was, however, said to have died on January 23 at the hospital due to severe head injury, occasioned by the alleged assault meted out on him by the three DSS officers.

The cause of the alleged altercation between the deceased and the DSS officers is yet to be known.

The officers are said to be currently facing a disciplinary committee.

“The names of the two others are yet to be known, but we know of that of David Olowoporoku. They beat him and he was rushed to a hospital after someone informed his divisional police officer.

“He had a head injury so much so that even when he was taken to the hospital, they thought he was dead. The doctors tried to save his life but he died.

“Before he died on January 23, he could not even talk again His body was later released to his family for burial.”
