Tiger Woods, the American golf star, has made his first public appearance — a couple of weeks after his involvement in a serious car crash.

In what seems to be his first outing since undergoing surgery on open leg fractures following the crash, the 45-year-old golf icon took to his Instagram page to share a photograph of himself with his dog on a golf course.

The 15-time major champion could be seen smiling despite a leg cast and crutches for support. Woods also disclosed that his rehabilitation is “coming along faster”.

“My course is coming along faster than I am, But it’s nice to have a faithful rehab partner, man’s best friend,” he wrote.

On February 23, Woods was hospitalised after his involvement in a car crash in Los Angeles.

The former world number one was the sole occupant of the 2021 Genesis GV80 SUV when it veered off the road at 84-87mph and flipped severally in what appeared to be a one-vehicle crash near the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes.

The fire crews had to use the “jaws of life” to rescue him from his car after it rolled over and suffered major damage. He had suffered “multiple leg injuries”.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department had also stated that the 2019 Masters champion was “fortunate to be alive”.
