President Bola Tinubu has appointed a board of governing council and management team of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

This is contained in a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president, media and publicity, on Thursday.

According to Ngelale, the appointments, which take effect immediately, were made in accordance with Sections 71(1), 72, and 73 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act (2010).

Felix Ogbe was appointed executive secretary following the four-year tenure of Simbi Wabote.


Wabote was re-appointed for an additional four years by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020.

The new governing council is chaired by Heineken Lokpobiri, minister of state for petroleum (oil), who will serve as head of mission (HOM)/ petroleum resources.

The other members include Oritsemyiwa Eyesan, executive vice president of Upstream Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Gbenga Komolafe, chief executive officer (CEO) of Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).


Other members are; Bekearedebo Warrens, director and head, internal audit, ministry of petroleum resources, Nicolas Odinuwe, group managing director and CEO of Zitadel Limited, Olorundare Thomas, commissioner for insurance and CEO of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Rapheal Samuel, and Sadiq Abubakar.

Addressing the team, Tinubu expressed his confidence in the ability to achieve the goal of 70 percent indigenous content and participation in the nation’s energy industry.

He said their expertise will be crucial in driving the development of the Nigerian oil and gas sector during the lifespan of his administration.
