Goodluck Jonathan has failed as president of the country and he has already admitted his failure to Nigerians, Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said on Tuesday.

Tinubu, who was speaking at the presidential rally of his party in Abeokuta (pictured), capital of Ogun state,  argued that having admitted his failure, Jonathan did not deserve to be elected for another term of four years.

“This man confessed to you that he has failed. If your child tells you he has failed, if he says he wants to become a carpenter and he failed, would you not tell him to find another trade? Jonathan has said he failed; let him go look for another job. Let him go,” Tinubu said.

“We don’t want him as president; he can’t do it. It is not his fault; he just can’t do it. Do you understand? It’s not his fault; he is just not capable. Let him go and rest at home. Six years of apprenticeship? Not for Nigeria’s presidency!”

Marketing Buhari to a crowd of APC supporters, he said: “Today, we have brought to you a great leader. Every nation has a period of their own challenges. When America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When France was challenged, they turned to their general, Chrles de Gualle. When Britain was challenged, they turned to their great general, Winston Churchill.

“Today Nigeria is challenged: economically challenged, physically challenged, security-challenged. Who do we turn to? General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk of military experience, he has this abundantly. If you talk of courage, he has this abundantly. If you talk of simplicity, he has it abundantly. If you talk of great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.”

Tinubu laughed at “the capable government of Nigeria, Poverty Development Party (PDP)”, saying they that when had nothing again to say, they had the temerity to question the qualification of General Buhari and look for his certificate.

“Ahhhhhhhh shame on them! If they want to insult the armed forces institution, the military institution, they should change and turn to another course. Don’t go through Buhari. Buhari went to cadet school, isn’t it? You give am beep, abi what them dey call that thing? From Cadet school you give am star. He became colonel, from colonel to Major, them no talk o. From Major to Brigadier, them no talk. From Brigadier to General, them no talk. He do General so te, he come for war, them no talk. You send pass war, you send am to army school London. You sent him to Sandhurst London, you said he passed; you said he had a certificate. In army school in America, he was with famous Americans and you said he wrote for them, he passed.

“He came back, you didn’t chase him from the army. He became general; as a general, he became the head of state. He left there; he contested first time, second time; we went to beg him this time for a third. You see that the shame is all over them. They are unfortunate persons; we cannot walk with them. You see they are not in their right senses.

Great youths of Nigeria, great youths of Ogun state, the greatest of the greatest, I don’t want to follow a leader who lies. Today, many of our youths are unemployed, and only yesterday the man promised 10 million jobs. For you Yorubas, you say the way the night would be, we would have known since the morning. He has done six years; you didn’t get jobs for our youths. This time around, you say you will create 10 million jobs; he who deceives know he is deceiving; he who is being deceived knows he is being deceived.

“The liar exists; their lies have torn their umbrella. lies! They’re falling; they cannot create job for you. Are you not tired of them? You went to the university for seven, eight years instead of four years. Are you not tired?

“I can teach them how to create the job locally. We will give you student loans, our programmes would be four years; you would not extend over four years to graduate. By your fourth year, you will be taken through that critical path. He said he wants to address the Nigerian youths, I’m now replying the president, Goodluck Jonathan; he said he would address them. The 10 million jobs, how?

“Since six years, if you have not been able to create that job…. You assembled our youths into the stadium in Abuja, Owerri, Enugu, everywhere. They asked them to pay for form, and they have no job, and they died and you have no remorse. Nobody was sacked, and now you promised that you are addressing the youth. Who are you deceiving? PDP, who are you deceiving? You understand me? Don’t be deceived.”
