Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress says the achievements of Adams Oshiomhole, made it possible for the ruling party to retain Edo state.

He described Godwin Obaseki, Edo state governor-elect, as a tested technocrat who’s competent enough for the job.

Following Obaseki’s victory over Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tinubu released a congratulatory statement through his media office on Thursday.

Tinubu said the people of Edo made a good choice in electing Obaseki, whom he says is “experienced to take over and continue the good work done by the outgoing Governor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole”.

The APC leader also congratulated Oshiomhole for his achievements in Edo, which he says, helped in retaining Edo for the ruling party.

Tinubu added that Edo had taken after Lagos in the continuity model, which has worked “assiduously well” for the people of the state.

Winning 13 out of the 18 local government areas of the state, Obaseki scored a total of 319,483 votes to defeat Ize-Iyamu, who polled 253,173 votes.
